How to Setup your Ramadan Table with Khat!

Setting a dinner table properly can enhance the dining experience and create a welcoming atmosphere for your guests.

Follow these steps to set up a traditional formal dinner table:

 

  1. Start with a Clean Table:
  • Wipe down the table surface with a clean cloth to ensure there are no crumbs or stains
  1. Use a Tablecloth or Placemats:
  • Lay a tablecloth over the table for a formal setting, or use placemats for a more casual look.

  1. Arrange Dinner Plates:
  • Place dinner plates in the center of each setting, ensuring they are evenly spaced.

  1. Position Napkins:
  • Fold cloth napkins neatly and place them to the left of the dinner plate or on the plate itself. Alternatively, you can use decorative napkin rings.
  1. Set Utensils:
  • Arrange the utensils in the order they will be used, starting from the outside and working inward.
  • Place the forks to the left of the dinner plate.
  • Set the knife to the right of the plate, blade facing inward.
  • Position the spoons to the right of the knife.
  1. Add Glasses:
  • Place water glasses above the knife, slightly to the right.
  • If serving juice, set juice glasses to the right of the water glass, slightly above and to the right.
  1. Add Glasses:
  • Place water glasses above the knife, slightly to the right.
  • If serving juice, set juice glasses to the right of the water glass, slightly above and to the right.

7. Include Bread Plates:
• Place bread plates above the forks, slightly to the left.

9. Decorate the Table:
• Add a centerpiece such as flowers, candles, or a decorative bowl to the center of the table.
